Digital Payment System Reduces Fraud in Tanzania
ZANZIBAR: According to a government report, Zanzibar has significantly reduced fraud in its financial systems as a result of the introduction of electronic payments.
The Minister of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport, Dr Khalid Salum Mohammed, told the House of Representatives that the adoption of technology in various financial systems has helped identify and close many loopholes that previously resulted in financial losses in government institutions as a result of the adoption of technology in various financial systems.

As a result of the transition to digital payments, financial discipline has been improved and fraudulent activities by dishonest public servants have been minimized.
Additionally, he reiterated the importance of cashless transactions and encouraged customers to use e-payments instead of cash.
